In France, Moses Simon scored a goal in Saturday’s Ligue 1 game as Nantes held Dijon to a thrilling 3-3 draw. However, he could not continue with the match as he limped off with an injury in the 43rd minute.
The strike was Simon’s 9th goal across all competitions this season and fifth on his 22nd appearance in the French Ligue 1. Simon also scored Nantes’ consolation goal in their 2-1 defeat to PSG on Wednesday.
Victor Osimhen was on target for Lille in their 2-0 win at Angers, in Friday night’s Ligue 1 clash. Osimhen opened scoring for Lille in the 14th minute before Sanches doubled the lead in the 75th minute.
The goal against Angers took Osimhen’s goal tally in the league to 12 in 23 appearances this season.
However, Osimhen was replaced by Nico Gaitan 10 minutes from time after sustaining an injury.
But Lille coach Christophe Galtier speaking after the game, does not think the injury is a serious and that Osimhen should be back available soon.
In the Spanish LaLiga, Samuel Chukwueze came on for Paco Alcacer on the 72nd minute as Villarreal recorded a 1-1 draw away at Real Valladolid on Saturday.
Defender Kenneth Omeruo played for 75 minutes for Leganes before he was replaced by Dimitrios Siovas as they lost 2-0 to Levante. Omeruo was booked in the 23rd minute of the game.
Ramon Azeez was also in action from start to finish as Granada lost by a lone goal to Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
In Scotland, Joe Aribo was on target in Rangers 4-1 FA Cup away win against Hamilton Academical on Saturday.
Aribo scored the Gers second goal in the fifth round fixture at the Fountain of Youth Stadium.
The 23-year-old has now scored seven goals and registered eight assists in 39 games across all competitions for Rangers this season.
In the Championship, Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi was in action for West Bromwich Albion as they beat Millwall 2-0 away in Sunday’s Championship game. The game was his 29th league appearance this season for West Brom.
In the Italy, Simy Nwankwo bagged the winning goal for Crotone who edged out Cremonese 1-0 at the Stadio Ezio Scida.
Nwankwo scored the decisive goal three minutes from time.
Victor Moses bagged an assist in Inter Milan’s 4-2 win against AC Milan at the Stadio Guiseppe Meaza.
Moses started the game on the bench and replaced Antonio Candreva 10 minutes from time. He set up Romelu Lukaku for Inter’s fourth goal deep into stoppage time.
Defender William Troost-Ekong featured for 90 minutes as Udinese recorded a 1-1 away draw at Brescia. The 26-year-old has featured in 20 league games for Udinese this season.
In the Croatian First division, Samuel Eduok scored the only goal of the game as Hadjuk Split defeated Lokomotiva Zagreb 1-0.
In the Turkish Süper Lig, Anthony Nwakaeme scored his 7th goals in 19 league appearances for his club this season, and took his goal tally to eleven in all competitions for Trabzonspor with a sumptuous effort in a 2-0 win over Gençlerbirligi.
Nwakaeme profited from a pass from Alexander Sorloth to score seven minutes from time.
Former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi also featured for Trabzonspor in the game. Mikel, who played the entire duration of the game has made 15 league appearances for the club this season.
Defender Shehu Abdullahi scored for Bursaspor as they beat Osmanlispor 4-2 away in the Turkish second division clash on Sunday. It was his second goal in 21 league appearances for Bursaspor in the current campaign.
In Greece, Nigeria forward Chuba Akpom scored twice as PAOK thrashed OFI Crete 4-0 in their Greeek Super League clash on Sunday.
Akpom opened scoring for PAOK in the 50th minute and doubled the advantage from the spot 10 minutes later. The 24-year-old has now scored six goals in 20 league appearances for PAOK this season.
Asisat Oshoala scored two goals and provided an assist as Barcelona Ladies spanked Real Sociedad 10-1 to emerge champions of the maiden Spanish women’s Super Cup.
It was Oshoala’s first trophy since joining Barcelona Ladies in 2019 from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian.
